Principal's Message

Welcome to Immanuel Christian Elementary school (ICES)!  We hope that you feel welcome and that you experience a sense of belonging as we strive to be a community of grace. Our staff is excited to partner with students and families for another year of Christian education.

At ICES our goal is to offer a holistic, transformative Christian education.  Things like Bible classes and chapels are obvious indicators of our Christian education, but Christian programming does not stop there.  Through our Teaching for Transformation approach, we want to help our students be God worshippers, image bearers, community builders, servant workers, justice seekers, idolatry discerners, earth keepers, order discovers, beauty creators and creation enjoyers.  In short, we want our students to see the fingerprints of God and acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all areas of study.

As part of our educational programming we also engage students in Formative Learning Experiences (FLEx).  This is where students partner with groups outside our school community for the dual purposes of learning and serving.  An example of this is having students visit Senior Citizen homes, develop a relationship with a senior friend through talking with them, writing and sharing their biographies. We have had the opportunity to partner with a number of community groups over the last number of years and look forward to continuing to do this.

Traditionally, our students have done very well on provincial achievement testing. This is a product of seeing our students as image bearers and wanting to develop their gifts for joyful service in God’s kingdom.  We want all students to understand their learning in the context of participating in God’s story.  It is God we serve and it is only through His blessing that our plans will be successful.  We want students to understand that part of their calling is being conduits for Him to bring healing and peace to our world.  We believe that Christians are called to partner with God in being agents of restoration.  We want our students to not only learn, but also, participate in that

Immanuel Christian Elementary school (much like Immanuel Christian Secondary school) is an alternative Christian school program within Lethbridge School Division. To parents who have continued to choose us, we are very grateful for your support.  For parents that are new to our school, we are excited you are joining us.  To parents who are undecided, we invite you in our building to come check us out!

Ephesians 2: 8-10 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
