An important message from the Board

Dear Parents,

In the past few days, the Society office has received a number of calls with questions regarding transportation and school fees in light of the current COVID-19 situation. The Society Board met last night and has made the following decisions:

Collection of transportation fees will be suspended, effective March 31, 2020, until transportation services resume. For all families using our busses, prepaid transportation fees will be credited to the 2020/21 school year, unless specifically requested otherwise.

There will be no change in the collection of school fees. These fees are used for the upkeep and maintenance of our buildings, as well as the support of our Society staff. These costs are continuing, despite not having students in the building. Our teachers are still in the school each day, preparing online lessons for our students. Our buildings need to be well-cleaned and disinfected as per guidelines set out by Lethbridge School District 51. 

We understand and recognize that these are trying and difficult times for many in our community, including those within our Society. We know that God is in control of all things, including this COVID-19 outbreak. We trust in His protection, and say along with the psalmist in Psalm 91, “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.’”
