Hello Parent

A few notes for the upcoming week.

The main piece of homework is the book report we have been working on for the last little while. I need those book reports in by Thursday at the latest. Also I would prefer them handed in in a digital format. (this allows for me to have multiple copies and can format all of the reports the exact same) If they are completed at home the easiest thing to do is to email them to me at alan.riewe@lethsd.ab.ca.

Also the bible memory for this week will be Psalm 23 1-2

Also thank you to every one who has contributed to the Bazaar basket. There is still plenty of room to add. Please have all the donations in as soon as possible.

Thanks

Hello Parents

I thought I had a list of parent emails, however I went to the place I thought they were and it turns out I do not. The following is an announcment about our upcoming floor hockey festival. If you could please sent me an email at alan.riewe@lethsd.ab.ca and I can send out the attachments.

Thanks

Alan Riewe

Grade 5 parents,

On Tuesday, November 22, we are planning a grade 5 floor hockey “festival” with Taber Christian school.  We will be travelling to Taber Christian school (4809 60th ave) on Tuesday for a 1 pm start time.  This would mean we would leave our school at 12 noon.  On the attached form is information about parent driving, game format and t shirt ordering etc.

Note: T shirts are optional – they can be ordered for the tournament, but if parents prefer their students can wear something else.  If a parent would like to order a t shirt for their child to be worn at the tournament, the cut off date for ordering would be on Wednesday, November 9.  Parents can order all shirts on “school cash online” under the Quicklinks on our website.  Also attached are driving forms.  These forms are either for parents who are willing to drive other students (Parent driver form) or for parents who can’t drive and would like someone else to drive their child (driver consent form).  Note – many parents have already filled out those forms.

We would like to encourage all students to participate as this is a fun grade 5 event; however, if for whatever reason this time does not work for a student or family – please contact the school and we can make other arrangements.

Thanks for all of your support and if you have any questions, please contact the school.

Hello Grade 5 Parents and Students

A few notes for this week.

LA- We have moved into the process of actually writing our book reports now that we have read our books. You may notice that the book report assignment page has been crossed out of the Book report booklet. This is not because I cancelled the assignment but came up with a better way to help the students write their book report. They all have a basic book report writing guide which they now should be working on. The final bookreport should be completed by November 9th. I hope to have enough class time however as we get closer to the date I will start assigning it as homework for the people who are a little behind.

Also we have a Bible test this week on all of the books of the Bible.

Home work over the Teacher Convention Long weekend.

There are two main things that will be for homework over the long weekend.

The main one is the bookreport booklet. All students should have the booklet filled out all the way up to the book report assignment. We will be starting to learn how to write a book report on Monday and it would be best if everyone is ready to start. Some students are finished however most are not.

The second part will making sure their Science duotang is completed up to part 4. The class will have a classroom chemistry unit test 2 weeks from now and studying will be alot easier for them if they are all caught up.

A few notes for this week.

For homework. Science will the due this coming Friday on the 7th of October. They will need to have up to and including part 4 completed in their duotangs.

We have started a book report project in class. Everyone will be getting a large amount of class time to work on the project and read the book so it does not have to be done as homework yet.

Health homework:  students are asked to complete their skeleton diagram for Wednesday
